With all four mountains officially open and a fresh dumping of snow currently falling in the Aspen/Snowmass area, this winter season is certainly in full gear, and there is much to look forward to apart from hitting the slopes as much as humanly possible.

Sardy Field is minutes from downtown Aspen and is the most convenient way to
get to Aspen/Snowmass. With airfares rising and the ease of searching for plane tickets online, more travelers are considering buying two tickets to get to one destination. For example, a flight from New York to Denver on one ticket and from Denver to Aspen occasionally offers a small price break from booking New York to Aspen on one ticket.

So, what is Adopt A Tourist? It’s formalizing what Aspenites do every day by welcoming visitors to town. Travelers can sign up to “be adopted” while in Aspen by locals. They get an insider-locals-type experience of Aspen, guided by volunteer locals. Ideally, they then leave with more than a photograph; they leave with a friend and an even better reason to come back to Aspen.
