We came to Aspen for the first time this year and stayed at the Hotel Aspen. We were thrilled with the location within walking distance of the town and on the free bus route to all ski resorts. We throughly enjoyed the hospitality of the staff, the room (especially the bed and linens) and the complimentary breakfast and Apres Ski were enjoyable and we made new friends over a glass of wine!

Good location, easy walk to downtown. Room was quiet. Bedding was clean & comfortable. Carpet needed a thorough cleaning, however. Kids liked city playground 1/2 block away, also the pool on site. Breakfast was nothing fancy but was certainly satisfactory. Liked having wi-fi. Would stay there again.

My wife and I had an incredible 4 days in Aspen! The Hotel Aspen staff and the property location had a lot to do with it. The hotel was pretty much as advertised clean, nice beds and easy to catch the bus to anywhere. We will be back next year!

Used to stay at the Hotel Aspen in the mid 90's. Had ramped up accomodation when times were good and but with the current climate, I decided to come back to Hotel Aspen this year. A very pleasant surprise. The rooms have been updated and the bedding package was quite comfortable, comparable to St. Regis/Ritz. I enjoyed the Apres and breakfast as well as the new ski lockers. Airport shuttle is fantastic and the overall helpful nature of the employees whether it be reservations or dinner recommendations really went above and beyond. I've already booked next year.

Our stay at Hotel Aspen was fine. Their website misrepresents the accomodations a bit but overall it was ok. The hotel location is fantastic - easy walk to everything in downtown Aspen & the shuttle convenience is fantastic! The beds & bedding are very comfortable; the furniture in the room was clean and contemporary; the carpet however was worn and dirty; the soundproofing from the outdoors seemed non-existent. You can hear conversations, drilling, housekeeping, etc. very clearly even though they're occurring outdoors and you're in the hotel room. The breakfast and the apres skiing was decent. I wouldn't be opposed to staying here again but I think next year we will ramp our level of accomodations. Thanks for a fantastic week in Aspen....

We really enjoyed our stay at hotel aspen. great value, great location. the mini kitchen was very helpful as we were traveling with a toddler. the flatscreen and dvd player were also a nice perk. the whirlpool tub in room and cozy robes were unexpected perks at this price point. the hotel staff was friendly. free movies available in the office, and excellent breakfast and apres ski in a cozy lounge with roaring fireplace added up to a very enjoyable stay.

Unfortunately we did not have a pleasant stay at Hotel Aspen. Some of the reasons include: leaking gutter dripped water on us every time in and out of the room, the water and mud in front of our door was then tracked into the room, the room was uncomfortable warm and required us to turn on the air conditioner and open the window, they forgot to perform room service the second day, the hot tubs did not work properly (jets did not work on one; the other was cold - 98 degrees). While they did upgrade us to another room on the third day, that room had several blood drops on the shower curtain. Other than that, the upgraded room was fine. We will return to Aspen but stay at another place.

Surprising stay. A short walk into the town or a block from the ski shuttle. Friendly and very helpful staff, good breakfast, an older building. One of the things that made this property stand out was every time you entered the rooms they smelled fresh and clean - and they really were - this wasn't just some spray to cover - the rooms were immaculate. Next was the standard of the beds and bedding - be warned - unless it's a powder day your resolve to start the day early will be sorely tested!! Excellent value - we tried to extend our stay by several days but all was full. I look forward to a return visit.

We had a great week there. The hotel is not the newest or fanciest - bathroom could stand updating. But the amenities made up for these shortcomings. Very friendly staff, ample breakfast buffet and apres ski were all included. Two hot tubs plus heated pool were enjoyable after a day on the slopes. Great beds, linens, bathrobes etc. Good location for walking into town or catching the shuttle bus to the ski areas. We'd go there again.
